Jayhawk fan at 7mos
A.J. says "Rock Chalk Jayhawk!" He is excited for KU basketball this season. Kelly bought him his terrific Kansas tracksuit. He is ready to rock! He had so much fun giggling, he spit up his dinner immediately following the video shoot.

Big Week for Andrew James
This past week, Becky and I have noticed some big changes in Andrew. He is able to support himself for a little while sitting up, and he has finally mastered rolling over from back to stomach. It is too funny to watch, as when he is on the belly his arms and legs started moving wildly like a frog. He is extremely curious, and is always looking around at his surroundings. Before long, he will be up and moving around. All is well with the Shew's. Looking forward to Andrew's first Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Andrew loves to read
While reading to Andrew, he started to let out a high pitch squeal and kicked his legs wildly. Pretty entertaining. The other video is of daddy "belly biting" Andrew, which gives him a huge smile. He really seems to enjoy it. Today will be our first trip to the Denver Zoo. Should be a blast.

Summer Events
Well, here we are, celebrating Labor Day weekend. The summer has come and gone and school is in full swing. We are thrilled to be settled into our new home. Small projects have already begun with new carpet in the front room and the removal of old landscaping in the front yard. Andrew is adjusting to life at daycare and we are so proud of him! Each day he brings more smiles to our faces; he is the absolute light of our lives. Thank you, everyone, for your patience in waiting for us to update our blog. Time got away from us and so we are making one large posting of the many adventures that have occurred over the past 2+ months.

Andrew's first road trip
The Shew family braved their first road trip with Andrew in tow. He did awesome, only waking when it was time to eat. We had a great time visiting with Grandma and Grandpa Shew. Dad was able to Mtn. bike with Grandpa and Becky went on a taily walk with Andrew. Andrew met his Great-Grandma Goldie as well. The weather was pretty nice with occasional rainstorms. Andrew has found his hand/fist and is constantly chewing on it. He also has started to smile (hard to tell by the pictures as he doesn't smile while on camera), and is developing a wonderful disposition. Here are a few of the most recent pictures.

The Cousins meet
Andrew James is growing like a weed in his first month. He is out of the newborn onesies and onto 0-3 month old clothes. It is really crazy how big he has become...and it is just beginning. He is the highlight of our day, and we are so fortunate that he is healthy. We have had a busy month with lots of visitors, Phil working and coaching, leaving Becky at home most days alone with Andrew. The weekends go by extremely fast, and we try to get as much done as we can. We are planning a nice walk in the park later this afternoon. We had James, Becky's brother, and his kids in town this past week, so Andrew was able to meet his cousins Matthew and Lauren and of course his uncle James. The time they spent together was very special and I know that Matthew and Lauren are excited to teach Andrew James the tricks of the trade.

Finally Home
So after almost a week in the luxurious confines of SkyRidge Medical Center, Becky, Andrew and i made it home. It feels so great to be home. Now the fun begins since there isn't an official nursery where the baby can be for a little mommy and daddy nap. So far everything is going well. We will keep you posted. Here are a few pictures before leaving, and a couple with some new visitors and friends. Brian, Jamie and Hudson Harris stopped by, and then Doc, Jess, Sofia and Kate Weidknecht did as well.
